Leave your coastal hotel early in the morning and drive Shimba Hills National Reserve, just 45 minutes outside of Mombasa city. Enter Shimba Hills Reserve and proceed on a morning game drive in search of the rare sable antelopes, Giraffes, buffalos, Leopards, Elephants and many other animals. On a clear day, you can see the Usambara Mountains in Tanzania. Lunch will be had at the Shimba Hills Lodge, the only wooden Tree Lodge in the coastal area. The Shimba Hills Tree Lodge overlooks a waterhole, the restaurant is strategically affording guests wonderful view of the waterhole and the animals that come to quench their thirst there.
Lunch will be followed by a short rest then we proceed for another game drive. You will have a chance to visit the spectacular Sheldrick Falls where you can walk between the water and the cliff and swim safely in a small pool. Afterwards we drive on our way out of the park and back to the hotel, arriving early in the evening.
